Do chrome stick on badges for your car come out looking tacky?

I want to get a decal put on my car and I am not sure what to watch out for and where to get it does anyone have any suggestions?

Atm i have decals on my,in the past ihave had chrome badges and letters also it all depends what is says really and how it blends to your vehicle like adding a Ferrari badge to a diesel truck is not a good way.
