Stick Red Flame
Can I manic panic over Feria red?
My friend wants me to dye her hair purple, she currently is using Feria (basic, drugstore haircolor-in-a-box) to dye her medium brown hair a bright,flaming red. I have always done manic panic on bleached-out-to-white hair, but I’m thinking that maybe the Feria has lightened and damaged the hair enough that the manic panic will stick? Purple over the red should be fine color wise, and maybe the red underneath will keep it from lightening to grayish so quickly,which purple always does for me. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I’d rather avoid bleaching her already processed hair. Thanks!
Color right over it. Think about it…(you obviously have some color knowledge) If someone has light blonde hair and wants to go darker…in order to get the color to hold you have to “fill it” with red…so the purple will hold. Also, Manic Panic is a SEMI permanent, highly pigmented color, so there is no lift (you don’t have to mix it with a developer to get it to work) so there really is no damage. You don’t have to bleach it all out just put the MP right over what she has already. Good Luck and have fun!
