what size power cable do I need to go 300 hundred metres?

I was guessing about 70mmas it has to run a 500 amp welder (32 amps) 3 phase, runing a neutral as well for power as I will be setting up a shed. The welder will be running at capacity only about 5% of the time the rest of the time at about half way,Regards Daniel

There are number of factors to take into account including type of cable, ambient temperature and type of install (direct buried etc). All of these are covered in the latest edition of IEE regs which I assume is the 16th Edition.

BTW it is illegal for someone to do work on a mains installation that is not registered.
